The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation is the nation's oldest and largest provider of need-based scholarships to military children. Today’s generation of Marines have made unprecedented sacrifices. Developed and implemented position to align organization more closely with traditional corporate structure. Oversaw finance and accounting functions for four 501(c)(3) entities and one for-profit entity. Served as staff liaison to audit, budget, and investment committees. Led relationship with organization’s external auditors as well as managed all banking relationships for organization. Worked with Show’s board as well as presented on behalf of Show at other organizations.Led several projects, including development and implementation of online account management for customers, committee management systems for volunteers, online application process for scholarships and grants, and scoring system for scholarship application process. Maintained responsibility for relationship with investment consultant and worked with investment committee to oversee and manage portfolio worth more than $250 million. • Transitioned bookkeeping department into well-resourced finance department run by seasoned controller.• Managed Show’s educational programs department, completely restructuring application process for scholarship program and grant programs.• Established Scholarship Alumni Program.• Managed financial aspects of more than $110 million in property acquisitions.• Represented Show’s interest in restructuring of NRG Stadium Bonds issued by Houston Sports Authority, and spoke for Show in Morgan Stanley’s online roadshow for bond offering.• Successfully negotiated early payoff of bonds/unwinding of related swap at discount.• Served as member of team that led corporate reorganization project with McKinsey & Company.• Secured PPP loan and other federal support for organization in response to COVID-19. • Established additional credit facility to help with short-term liquidity.• Led team which processed rollovers, refunds, and donations for customers, vendors, and sponsors.• Managed multiple budgets and forecasts for various scenarios in 2020 and 2021.

Directed finance, accounting, and human resource functions for organization with over $125 million in venture capital and low-income housing tax credit funds under management. Managed technical support and compliance for real estate and venture capital businesses

• Served as controller for PNC credit card acquisition, with responsibility for budget development and maintenance, and tracking expenditures to determine whether capitalized or expensed.• Oversaw launch of new insurance services division. Developed and provided cost-effective management of budget guidelines for four businesses within division. Served as liaison to COO’s administration, investor relations, and corporate finance.

Planned and facilitated financial audits in accordance with GAAP for diverse client base including insurance, manufacturing, and nonprofit industries. Worked with various clients, including Smithfield Foods, Inc., Southern Health, Medical College of Virginia Foundation, Hamilton-Beach/Proctor-Silex, and Loudon County, Virginia. Participated in several non-financial audit projects for clients, which included AT&T and Southern Health.
