While serving as the Chief Development Officer, I was responsible to plan, direct, coordinate, supervise, monitor and evaluate the day-to-day operations of all development functions for the Division including direct mail appeals, government and foundation grants, capital campaign process, media relations and digital media, planned giving, major gifts, research, various advisory boards, and donor database administration. This position served as a technical resource to the Divisional Commander and provided recommendations in all areas of community relations and development. As a key leadership role, it was a privilege to interact with a wide range of contacts both within and outside The Salvation Army; acting as a representative of the Army and an ambassador of its mission.

The Arthritis Foundation is where my Enneagram 3 burst free with task lists and organizing events. I was responsible for planning, implementing, managing and evaluating events and programs that bring together corporate partners, medical leaders, community leaders, and volunteers across the Islands to raise funds for, and awareness, of arthritis and related diseases, the most common cause of disability in America. In Hawai‘i, over 236,000 people are diagnosed with one of the 120 different forms of Arthritis.

I loved my time serving as the Director of Development for the William S. Richardson School of Law. This position focused on assisting the Dean in formulating a comprehensive development plan for the institution. Together, we identified key prospects and created a strategy for private fund development and cultivation. During my tenure, the William S. Richardson School of Law raised the 2nd highest amount of private funds since the inception of the Law School in 1973 and had the privilege of celebrating Chief Justice William S. Richardson's 90th Birthday through the establishment of his named endowment.

In 2004, I designed and initiated the school’s first formal Alumni program, generating interest and support from alumni across the United States. Taking the lead on managing all special events for the Institutional Advancement office, it was a privilege to travel throughout the United States to gain support from the school’s major donors and alumni.
