Worked for a group of 80 scientists at the UC Davis Environmental Health Sciences Center (EHSC). Established EHSC’s digital programming, led community engagement efforts around COVID-19 and wildfire research, produced video projects with PBS, and was recognized for achievements by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine, the American Public Health Association, and the Northern California Emmys. Highlights include:• Produced "Dignidad: Domestic Workers' Struggle for Justice in California," a 30-minute documentary about domestic workers' fight for health and safety regulations on the job during the COVID-19 pandemic. PBS is streaming it nationally in 2023-25. • Produced “Waking Up to Wildfires,” an Emmy-nominated documentary about the impact climate change is having on the health of communities in Northern California. The National Academies of Sciences featured the film in its wildfire proceedings, Cal Fire used it in a suicide prevention program, and PBS aired it on stations nationwide. • Produced "Air, Water, Blood: The Power of Community-Engaged Research," which was a featured documentary at the 2021 American Public Health Association's (APHA) Film Festival.• Conceived and developed social media plans that successfully recruited 15,000 study participants in major wildfire and COVID-19 research projects. • Led content strategy to improve online metrics across website and social media platforms, better targeting and engaging core audiences and time on site, increasing web traffic year-over-year, lowering bounce rate, and growing monthly organic reach across platforms. • Managed, wrote, and edited science blog and monthly internal newsletter for scientists. • Organized large events to promote science and engage policy makers and community members in research. • Supported partnership with the National Institute for Environmental Health Sciences. • Managed and mentored editorial assistants and budding science writers.
