Jennifer Wright currently serves as Executive Director, Communications at GM Canada and leads an exceptional team of communications professionals responsible for GM’s profile and reputation in Canada and the media relations strategy for its brands — Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac. Areas of expertise: Building High-Impact Teams/Corporate Media Relations/ Internal Communications/ Crisis Communications/ Executive Profile/Labour & Manufacturing/ Social & Digital Media/Brand and Technology Communications.During my 25-year career with the company, I have focused on corporate, brand, digital and employee engagement communications in Canada, coordinating with multiple internal and external stakeholder across NA.After graduating from McMaster University, I joined GM in the manufacturing environment where I performed various management roles in two assembly plants. As a writer for the University’s student paper, I found my passion to pursue a career in communications. From leading employee communications and complex corporate issues, I've grown my career within the public relations function affairs function facing many complex professional challenges. In my free time, I'm a licensed fitness instructor, avid fundraiser for Sick Kids Hospital, serve on the Durham College Foundation board and host a “Powerhouse’ mentoring group connecting over 200 professional women across GM to lead with impact.
