I am a senior at Loyola University Chicago, majoring in Global Studies with a minor in Italian. I am currently interning at Differenza Donna in Rome, Italy; an organization committed to addressing, preventing, and eradicating gender-based violence. Recognized nationally and internationally, Differenza Donna provides extensive support services for women, including legal aid for asylum seekers and refugees, referrals for trauma-informed counseling, medical assistance, and programs for social reintegration.In my role, I assist with case documentation, conducting research on the legal and social frameworks surrounding gender-based violence and migration in women’s countries of origin, as well as supporting Spanish-speaking women by translating between Spanish and English during their cases and interviews.I am also a volunteer at EMERGENCY’s Info Point in Rome, an international organization operating across Europe and Asia that delivers free, high-quality medical care to those affected by conflict and poverty.My experiences have strengthened my passion for human rights advocacy, developed my cross-cultural communication skills, and deepened my dedication to supporting women's rights and promoting social justice globally.
