Hello, LinkedIn Community!I’m Jennifer Kumar, and I’d love to share a bit about what brought me here and what keeps me inspired every day. Originally from central New York, my journey has taken me across continents and cultures, each stop adding a new layer of insight and perspective.I first arrived in Utah in 2009, not knowing this place would eventually become my home. I made the move permanent in 2017, embracing Utah’s landscapes and history. Since then, I’ve found a unique connection here, not only through exploration but also through the people I’m privileged to meet and mentor. Every morning, I’m excited to start the day because I get to work with students at the University of Utah—future leaders and innovative thinkers in Criminology, Sociology, Political Science, and Anthropology. They’re passionate, curious, and purpose driven, and it’s a joy to help them build their paths forward. My goal is simple: to support these bright minds as they prepare to make a lasting difference in our world.But my story is also deeply connected to India, a place that has been a home away from home for me since my first visit in 1998. I’ve traveled to India 30 times and spent a total of 10 years living there. For 2.5 years, I studied in Chennai at Madras Christian College, where I was the only international student in my program. Later, I lived another 7.5 years in Kochi with my husband, who is from India. My experiences there gave me invaluable insights and introduced me to the complexities of cross-cultural collaboration, a focus that has since shaped my career. Through my posts, I often reflect on these experiences and the cultural lessons I’ve learned, especially my work training teams to navigate the U.S.-India dynamic.On LinkedIn, I love to share career resources and ideas for both my students and fellow career coaches, but I also sprinkle in posts about my personal interests including mindfulness, consciousness studies, coaching, natural healing, mindbody work and nature healing.
