Drove government relations strategy and implementation on behalf of a private-sector partner of the State of New Jersey's Medicaid (NJ FamilyCare) program. Effectively built relationships to strengthen public policy impacting approximately one million lower-income parents and children, seniors, and people with disabilities. Partnered with clinical, quality management, analytics, provider contracting, and community relations teams to improve outcomes and effectively resolve regulatory concerns.

As advocate for and representative of the charter public schools of New Jersey, provided executive leadership and political strategy for the statewide membership organization. Managed and directed all operations, programs, and activities, including legislative initiatives, strategic relationships, public relations, member services, fiscal management, governance, and personnel. Successfully lobbied for $6.85 million in additional State funding to charter schools. Proposed and received more than $600,000 in new public and private sector grant funding to support expanded technical assistance to charter schools. Proposed and executed interagency grant implementation.

As aide to the Senate Education Committee, developed and analyzed education policy initiatives, school district performance, and school funding proposals with members of the Senate. Also served as aide to the State Government Committee and assisted with Budget Committee. Managed negotiations between legislators, legislative staff, Governor’s staff, and stakeholders to resolve education policy issues. Collaborated with non-partisan bill drafters to craft and amend legislation addressing issues in K-12 and higher education as requested by members of the Senate.

Taught fifth grade Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, and Science as a member of a national teacher corps serving under-resourced communities nationwide.
