When I was 5, I wanted to be a lion tamer. At 12, I had my sights set on marine biology. Now I know: I want to make a difference in someone's life. That's what I have loved about working in higher education - that no matter who you are or what role you fill, you are impacting the world's next leaders and lion tamers alike. I have worn many hats over the course of my career - scheduler, advisor, researcher, mentor, analyst, advocate. As a result, I have had the opportunity to learn quite a bit: -I like teamwork. Getting out of your comfort zone is important, and there's no better way to do that then in working with a diverse group of people. -There may be no such thing as a "dumb question" but there ARE "smart questions." Knowing what to ask is a skill worth honing.-I like to be challenged.-Stagnation is the enemy. If I'm not learning something new, then I'm not working to my potential.-I'm the quiet one.-Anyone can come up with big ideas. It's the follow-through that matters. I follow through. Over the years, I have developed a passion for working with people and a skill in bringing out the best in others.
