I'm the owner and lead consultant at WRK Group Strategies, LLC, a cannabis-focused media and communications firm. WRK Group provides content marketing and consulting services for nonprofits, campaigns, and emerging and established cannabis businesses in state-legal markets.Recent projects include:• Maryland medical cannabis license application support and preparation (cultivation, processing, and dispensary licenses)• Commissioned content for industry-leading publications such as MARY Magazine• Custom WordPress site design, development, and administration • Brand narrative and content marketing strategy

I manage the day-to-day operations for an emerging digital magazine devoted to legal recreational cannabis and the evolving perception of the cannabis connoisseur. In addition to providing creative vision and editorial direction, I also write content: reviews (products, shops, and amenities related to the legal cannabis industry, as well as books, music, and other topics of interest for the modern cannabis consumer); creative features on such topics as women in cannabis, activism, and parenting; and news stories.Other tricks up my sleeve:• Editing and copyediting all written material on the site for message, tone, clarity, and accuracy.• Designing and building WordPress websites; maintaining and updating sites; managing web content.• Planning and applying social media marketing strategy, as well as other marketing efforts, to increase visibility and readership.

I consult with schools, educational programs, and families to design and develop curricula, train teachers, improve documentation and assessment methods, advise on homeschooling issues, and identify pedagogical best practices. Clients include the City Neighbors Charter School network and the Holistic Education Initiative. I also work with students ages six through 18 in focused, one-on-one sessions to enhance various skills, including: literacy and reading, creative and expository writing, mathematics, problem solving, pragmatic language, executive function and organization, and college essays. Together, we identify strengths and needs in order to facilitate metacognition; we incorporate mindfulness meditation strategies to help children self-regulate, reduce stress, and manage emotions. I collaborate with teachers and parents to create and implement individualized learning plans and communicate students’ progress regularly with families and schools.

Leadership:• Coordinated Lower School Organic Garden Program: recruited and directed volunteers, managed budget, led Garden Club, and ensured physical upkeep of 15-bed garden space.• Represented the Lower School on Faculty Council, a body dedicated to maintaining a safe and equitable workplace for all employees. • Led the first grade team in curricular development and alignment. • Mentored new teachers in progressive philosophy, curriculum, and school culture. • Served on Gender and Mathematics Working Group and Sustainability Committee. • Observed, screened, and assessed prospective students as part of the Primary Admissions team. • Chaired a noteworthy faculty advancement project, “Broadening the Conversation about Race.”Teaching: • Built strong relationships with students founded on mutual trust and respect; supported the social-emotional growth and wellbeing of children through classroom meetings, identity and diversity discussions, and mindfulness training. • Developed a meaningful, engaging, integrated first grade curriculum around the Lower School Organic Garden and the seed-to-table process, imparting fundamental skills and concepts while boosting children’s self-confidence and sense of responsibility to others and the world. • Taught medieval studies to fifth graders through an interdisciplinary, project-based curriculum, with an emphasis on theater arts and a thematic focus on class and power. • Established and maintained excellent relationships with parents through daily dialogue, weekly newsletters, and family-teacher conferences. • Assessed and evaluated each child’s learning using holistic, multi-modal approach including narrative reports, work-sampling portfolios, and developmental checklists.

Wrote product reviews and copy for local publications, including Baltimore's Child and baltimoremama.net.

Designed age-appropriate emergent curricula based on five- to seven-year-old students’ interests. Created the Primary Class Curriculum Guide for the continued success of the program. Presented professional development to faculty on curriculum and pedagogy. Served as faculty representative and secretary to Board of Directors.

Supported Development Director, Board of Directors, and volunteers with donor cultivation, giving efforts, and event planning; managed donor database. Heightened awareness of child welfare issues through press releases, media advisories, quarterly newsletters, op-eds, and other mass communications. Developed marketing strategies to grow the KidPins outreach and fundraising project.
