I have worked in the private sector of business (health care management, payroll management, HR, and retail management). I am also a certified Texas teacher (4-8, math) and taught for 4 years in public schools. I began working as adjunct faculty at TAMU-C in the Spring of 2005. Shortly thereafter, I began teaching full time while pursuing my PhD in Educational Psychology (with emphasis in Business Management). After earning my PhD in 2009, I began teaching courses in the MBA program, as well as undergraduate courses in communications, statistics, and international business. My goal is to provide a quality education to my students while making their college experience a time of learning, growing, and self-reflection. My courses help students understand the important of continual research, effective communication, and how global business impacts us all. Meanwhile, my research takes a look at stereotypes in the workplace, putting a psychological spin on the business realm, in particular HR managers. I currently focus on stereotype threat's impact on work performance on minority and non-minority workers in manual labor; however, with the workforce becoming increasing diverse, I plan to take this research into various business scenarios.Specialties: Stereotype Threat, Employee Relations, International Business, Business Communications, Business Statistics
