Responsible for supporting Australian Unity's investment bonds business through the development and operational execution of the strategic plan. This role supports the Executive General Manager of AU Life, with focus placed on delivery of business initiatives in a fast paced and dynamic environment. I have also been responsible for managing the acquisition and leading the transition of a $1.1bn investment bond business.

Provision of timely, independent and insightful assurance on the effectiveness of Australian Unity's governance, risk management and control processes. Focus placed on the Wealth & Capital Markets platform, encompassing funds management, property (including developments), trustee services and advice businesses. Engagements also include Group-wide capital and liquidity audits, as well as project assurance activities. Key responsibilities: - contribution to the development of the annual audit plan- delivery of complex audit reports, with any issues raised in a constructive, commercially sound and pragmatic manner- stakeholder engagement- attendance at various forums, including steering committee meetings- continuous improvement activities, such as the revision / rollout of audit methodology amendments- people management (leading a team of 3 staff)

Working with key stakeholders across the Australian Unity Group to assist in improving governance and control frameworks as well as driving process improvements. Responsibilities include:- Planning and executing property and capital related audits (e.g. focussing on development and construction, capital management, corporate liquidity etc.)- Delivery of insightful, practical and value adding audit reports- Managing staff in delivering quality outcomes - Developing the project assurance methodology- Conducting project-related audits (i.e. health checks and post implementation reviews) across the Group's major projects

My role involved the performance of risk based internal audits of the Group’s business and support units through application of contemporary audit methodology, predominantly focusing on Investments and Personal Financial Services. This encompassed areas within the audit universe including investment and portfolio management across both front and middle offices, as well as back office functionalities addressing registry maintenance and fund accounting.
