Director Of Public Policy
CurrentAccountable for advancing and monitoring public policy priorities of ASNC including passage of autism insurance legislation, children with disabilities scholarship programs, advocacy on budget, health care, managed care, and other disability policy issues. Supervise lobbyists and conduct lobbying activities as needed. Provide input to public officials on legislative, rule, budget and other policy related to developmental disability and autism related activities in North Carolina. Partner with and lead coalitions working to advance disability policy. Communicate ASNC policy activities to Board and public. Grow grassroots policy activity through work with ASNC Chapters and supporters, including conducting policy and advocacy training. Support families, individuals on the spectrum, professionals and the community with information about a variety of public policy issues. Responsible for management of I&R and customer service database, including reporting on on activities, training staff, administering system, providing IT support. Supervise Resource Specialist in maintaining resources in system.
