In this role, my core responsibility was to ensure effective P&L and general management of one of Kaplan's largest product lines, consisting of products for the Medical School Admissions Test (MCAT), including prep courses, digital study aids, and retail publishing titles, immersive study programs, private tutoring, and medical school admissions consulting services. I defined and implemented effective portfolio growth strategies to establish and achieve revenue and operating income targets. I also developed and executed investment cases for new products, initiatives, partnerships, and mergers and acquisitions.

In this previous role, I assumed P&L ownership of $50M+ portfolio, consisting of retail publishing, on-demand courses, and digital study aids. I spearheaded management of strategy, product, and positioning across three brands: Kaplan, Manhattan Prep, and Barron's.I also developed go-to-market strategy; strengthened product positioning; championed product development efforts; and ensured alignment of strategic efforts across marketing, sales, operations, academics, and customer service.

In this role, I guided the end-to-end product development lifecycle for both established and emerging product lines within business units encompassing nearly two-thirds of Kaplan Test Prep's total revenue. I coached and inspired a 16-person product technology team, which expanded into a highly productive 36-person team with expertise across content/curriculum, UX, and product technology.I defined a data-driven product strategy and roadmap informed by analysis of user behavior, learning efficacy, customer satisfaction, and business opportunities. I also managed application of Lean Product Discovery and Agile Product Development methodologies across the entire product lifecycle from strategic planning to tactical implementation to ongoing iteration and maintenance. I cooperated closely with software engineers to develop and deploy feasible, scalable, and innovative technical solutions.During my tenure in this role, I achieved several promotions to greater leadership roles, from Associate Director to Director to Senior Director.

In this past position, I acted as editor and creator of the educational material provided to GRE and GMAT students. I planned and executed new product development, including major course revisions in 2011 and 2012, including course materials in multiple formats. I wore several hats in this role, including subject matter expert for GMAT and GRE exams; editor-in-chief to ensure product suite quality; project manager to meet all budgetary and timeline goals; and team leader of freelance writers and editors.During my tenure in this role, I was promoted from Manager to Senior Manager.
