As the 2024 President of the San Diego Organization of Healthcare Leaders, a volunteer-led independent chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives, it is a privilege to lead SOHL alongside our board of 30+ volunteers. FHCSD offers a wide range of health care services throughout the region, including 23 primary care clinics, eight dental clinics, a teen health center, eight behavioral health facilities, an outpatient substance abuse treatment program, vision and physical therapy departments, three mobile medical units and a pharmacy.

SOAR (Success, Opportunity, Academics, Relationships) Mentor is the Mentor Program of The Office of Educational Opportunity Programs and Ethnic Affairs (EOP). Through its components of success, opportunity for academic development, retention and graduation it allows EOP students to SOAR. The SOAR Mentor Program pairs trained upper-class student mentors with incoming freshmen called protégés. Mentors serve as guides to assist new students through the maze of rules, regulations, expectations, and activities of general college life.

The Field of research is conducting a study, Boca Sana Cuerpo Sana which focuses on the oral health needs of migrant workers, teens, and seniors.Duties: • Conduct literature reviews• Collect and analyze data• Prepare materials for submission to granting agencies and foundations• Prepare materials for UW Human Subjects Committee review • Prepare interview questions• Recruit and/or interview subjects• Maintain accurate records of interviews, safeguarding the confidentiality of subjects, as necessary• Summarize interviews• Provide ready access to all experimental data for the faculty researcher and/or supervisor• Request or acquire equipment or supplies necessary for the project• Manage and respond to project related email• Prepare, maintain, and update website materials• Supervise undergraduate students working on the research project (maintaining records on assignment completion, acting as liaison/mediator between the undergraduate students and the faculty researcher)• Attend project meetings• Attend area seminars and other meetings as necessary• Summarize project results• Prepare progress reports for the PI and funding agency• Prepare other articles, reports, and presentations• Monitor the project budget
