Having taught music for 20 years, Jennifer's wealth of experience in educating young children to connecting with seniors resulted in the foundation of Ritmo Music Studio. She truly believes that music playing should be accessible to all ages & abilities. We are born with innate rhythm sense within ourselves. As babies, we naturally want to bang on things and play some rhythms. Jennifer obtained her Associate of Arts in Music Performance (Drums) from Los Angeles College of Music (then LA Music Academy) in 2010 studying under the tutelage of Ralph Humphrey, Joe Porcaro and many top session musicians in California. Other musical qualifications she has include ABRSM Grade 6 Music Theory (Merit) & Grade 8 Practical (Percussion). She continuously takes up courses to upgrade her skills and knowledge to enhance her teaching to various age groups - Early Childhood, Music Therapy, Special needs, NIE's teaching and learning and so on. She is currently doing the ACLP (Advanced Certificate in Learning & Performance) course.Pre-pandemic, Jennifer used to perform regularly, playing at Red Dot Brewhouse (Boat Quay), Timbre Gillman, various bars & pubs such as Switch, Crazy Elephant, McGettigans. She has played in festivals such as St Patrick's Day, musicals & for international artistes & shows in Esplanade, various halls & art centres.​While based in California, Jennifer has worked with many singer/songwriters & gigged frequently. She was part of an indie rock band, Chachi and toured with them to San Francisco thrice. She also and played & sang on Enjoy The View album released in 2010. In 2009, Jennifer played percussion & sang background vocals with Skyebat, a New York based band, and won the Best Original Song in Feel Good Film Festival 2009. She has also performed as a blues drummer in a theatre production, How Katrina Plays, a docu-play by acclaimed playwright, late Judi Ann Mason, at the Write Act Repertory Theatre, Hollywood. In 2008, she performed on african percussion with Best World Music Artiste, Nitza, as the opening act for Hollywood Music Awards. She has also trained Member of Parliament, Dr Maliki on drumset for Siglap CC National Day Dinner 2012. She was an instructor for the 1st Community Drumming for National Day Celebrations in Tampines in 2005.
