    Secondary Eld Coordinator/Manager
Sonoma Valley High School Sep 2007 - Present
I'm in the second year in my role as ELD Coordinator, which requires a wide variety of skills to successfully manage approximately 140 students and four teachers (yearly). Primarily, I manage all four ELL teachers at the high school (which includes myself), coaching and teaching them in strategies and lessons for their classroom practice with newcomer language learners, LTEL students (Long-Term English Learners), and students that are near-ready to be reclassified as English Proficient. Additionally, I coordinate ELPAC training, proctoring, and testing, which includes a variety of networking (within the school and with Sonoma Valley Unified School District) to make certain that those 140-150 students are ELPAC-tested in the four domains of reading, writing, speaking and listening in English every spring. As well, I coordinate Initial ELPAC testing for newcomers to our district at the high school, and am in charge of tracking student data and progress (their grades, Star-E reading scores, SBAC scores, and Lexile/Percentile range scores) in order to ascertain their readiness for RFEP status (Reclassified Fluent English Proficient). I interface regularly with the parents of our ELs and communicate via email and ELAC meetings (ELAC stands for English Learner Advisory Committee), on which committee I regularly stand as the school EL representative. I advise teachers and present ELPAC information to the entire staff and keep them informed on testing dates, their students' progress, and any strategies they can use to support their EL students' learning in their specific subject. Most recent training was 10/25/23-- the program is Ellevation, an online data tools management system for student data analysis, reporting, collaboration and instruction. Additionally our EL program at Sonoma High uses HMH English 3D program (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt),an online-accessible curriculum for Eng Lang learners. Training w/HMH is ongoing throughout school year.
