Supervisor Of Library Services
CurrentI function as a library supervisor, project leader and project manager at the Institute for Defense Analyses. I direct and control activities related to the planning, development, and provision of the Library’s public services, including classified document acquisition, reference, interlibrary loan, and its print-based collections, including documents, journals and books. I liaise with other library staff to ensure the effective harmonization of IDA’s online resources and services with those of the print-based collection, the Reference Desk and its support of research, and other more traditional responsibilities. I also supervise the library’s classified and unclassified print-based document and book collections, including its DIA and SCIF collections.I administer document acquisition for IDA and maintain all security aspects of the documents. I serve as organizational liaison with the Defense Technical Information Center, a clearinghouse of Department of Defense technical reports. I also manage a data-mining project and release daily results to the greater IDA staff. This project was also disseminated to the National Defense University, Army Knowledge Online, and the Department of Homeland Security. I was in charge of designing and maintaining the IT Directorate’s Web pages on IDA’s Intranet and was selected by the former Director of Information Technology at IDA to co-lead IDA’s Project Management Office (PMO).
