Communications ManagerWilmington 2000 Aug 1995 - Jun 1998Wilmington 2000 was an economic development company aimed at revitalizing downtown Wilmington, Del. It was a partnership with the Mayor's Office, City Council, the downtown business improvement district and the city's arts organizations. After the year 2000 the name was changed to the Wilmington Renaissance Corporation. In 1996, Wilmington 2000 was instrumental in launching the Delaware College of Art and Design, a creative partnership between Pratt Institute and the Corcoran College of Art and Design. Wilmington 2000 also encouraged tremendous growth of business in the downtown area, and created Downtown Visions, a clean and safe management company for the Wilmington Downtown Business Improvement District. As communications manager, I was responsible for internal and external communications, media relations, photography, publications and special events.
