Leading the central undergraduate student government at Queen's University, the Alma Mater Society, I was responsible for 70 full-time staff, 600 part-time staff, over 1,000 volunteers, $13 million in revenue, and $3.5 million in managed assets.During my term, I built a working coalition to support the redevelopment of the John Deutsch University Centre, the central student life building on campus and secured a $43MM capital contribution commitment from the university, including a $10MM fundraising pledge. I worked closely with the Office of Advancement on a strategic plan for potential donors at major giving levels. I also managed a wide-ranging consultation process spanning student groups, alumni, university departments and the local community.

I was elected in a campus-wide election as the undergraduate representative to the Board of Trustees of Queen’s University, the governance body responsible for financial and strategic matters. In addition to my Board duties, I developed strong working relationships with university senior executives through my work on the Board’s audit and risk committee, and with student government leaders through work on several student government’s committees.
