Served as a Teaching Assistant for two undergraduate engineering classes at the University of Miami. I helped students develop and perfect their land surveying skills. I worked on two projects as a research assistant. In the first project, I measured the levels of sediments and chemicals in the sand on Grand Isle Beach, Louisiana, due to the 2010 BP oil spill. The goal of this work was to evaluate the long-term health effects and risk to children playing on the impacted beaches. I worked as an intern in the Risk Control Department at CNA Insurance in the Chicago area during the Summer of 2016. My job duties included visiting customers to evaluate risks and exposures for multiple lines of insurance including property, workers' compensation, general liability, and auto. I collaborated with my mentor to summarize our findings in a technical risk control report that includes evaluations such as sprinkler analyses and probable maximum loss (PML) scenarios. This report was then provided to the underwriters to determine risk selection and pricing. As part of my internship, I also conducted research for a summer project. My project involved an analysis of common air flow inefficiencies in a data center by using infrared thermography. I was a full time counselor at an overnight girl’s summer camp. I supervised youth ages 8 – 15 and was responsible for the overall well-being of the campers. I had specific accountability as an Activity Counselor for games, recycled arts, tennis, and culinary arts. As a result, I planned, taught, coordinated, and lead multiple camp activities. I was voted “Most Fun” and “Best All-Around Counselor” during my first year.
