As a Student Support Coordinator at Haverhill Public Schools, I am passionate about creating an equitable and positive academic environment for all students, especially those who are multilingual or come from diverse cultural backgrounds. I have a Master of Arts in Community Social Psychology from University of Massachusetts Lowell, and I am pursuing a Master of Education in Community Engagement from Merrimack College, where I learn how to apply the principles of social justice, civic engagement, and community development in educational settings.In my current role, I serve as a key team member in implementing a school-wide system of support that includes proactive strategies for defining, teaching, and supporting appropriate student behaviors. I also coordinate and founder R I S E, an after-school program that provides informational nights, training sessions, workshops, and scholarships to help multilingual students build a strong foundation for their futures. I have partnered with MassHire to offer workshops on executive functioning skills, college and trade careers, job applications, interviews, and financial literacy. Additionally, I organize parent night information sessions to ensure Spanish-speaking parents are informed and involved in the district-wide policies, initiatives, and academic information. Through my work, I contribute to enhancing the connection between positive practices, teaching, and learning, and empowering students and families to achieve their goals.
