My research centres on the development of a demonstrator implmentation methodology for digital fabrication (DFAB) under the Swiss National Centre of Competence for Research (NCRR) in DFAB project.

I supported people at risk of social exclusion in their search for employment through imparting conversational English classes and working to motivate individuals to want to join the workforce. Key outputs & achievements:- Developed and delivered a structured English programme that saw numbers increase from 3-4 per class to 16-20 per class.- Awarded funding from the European Commission for the European Voluntary Service including writing the funding application, recruiting, receiving and inducting new volunteers from Italy, Portugal and Poland.

I had responsibility for all on-programme activity including training and development, corporate social responsibility, budget management, mentoring of graduates and stakeholder management. Key outputs & achievements:- Delivered a world class graduate training programme that attracted the best graduates and high profile customers such as Rolls-Royce Plc. and Sellafield Ltd. with training and development activities taking place across the UK, Texas and Europe.- Increased numbers of sponsored graduate places for the nucleargraduates programme from 28 to 39 per year.- Implementation of a postgraduate technical certificate and an engineering/science based competency framework.- Development and delivery of a successful SME Challenge programme that has graduates set up, operate and close down a real business providing them with an unlimited amount of practical business experience.- Comprehensive review and implementation of a new programme model.

Focusing on project management and human resource development, I acquired wide knowledge of the nuclear industry from new build, power generation, decommissioning and defence as well as its economic, political, environmental and technical environments. Secondments as follows:- Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA), Whitehaven: helped shape the development of the nucleargraduates programme (owned by the NDA) in its early stages through project managing on-campus recruitment, writing processes to satisfy ISO 9001 accreditation; coordinated development and training of the applicant tracking system; wrote operational reports to be fed up to the CEO.- Magnox North (Hunterston A): developed the knowledge management strategy, policy and action plan satisfying an NDA performance based incentive; participated in a Process Working Group to standardise processes across Magnox (common induction and training evaluation); reviewed the training portfolio and developed a process for the Learning and Skills Peer Group to follow for writing, reviewing and updating company standards.- U.S. Department of Energy (Washington D.C.): visited Idaho National Laboratory; provided support to the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Energy for the Global Nuclear Energy Partnership and International Atomic Energy Agency activities; attended bilateral and multilateral meetings to learn about international policy; managed production of briefing books for the Deputy Secretary of Energy; and conducted environmental analysis on nuclear programmes worldwide.- CH2M HILL (London & Dounreay): supported entry into nuclear new build by conducting research into organisations involved in new build across the UK and learnt about project management in decommissioning through their contract of the UK’s most challenging nuclear site, Dounreay.

1-yr internship programme based in New York where I worked for an energy related financial investment company. My role included being personal assistant to the COO and the CEO, managing the office, arranging travel for the team, managing vendor accounts. The internship incorporated the Cambridge Certificate in International Business Practice.

Assisted the partners in producing feasibility studies for companies wanting to become a franchise. Experience included market research, business modelling, internal audits, financial modelling, SWOT analysis.
