Using extensive experience and relationships with governmental agencies, I provide clients with an array of services including zoning due diligence, local ordinance compliance, community outreach, and entitlement management where I serve as the owner’s representative before elected bodies, appointed boards and agency staff.

Responsible for leading a team of 185 staff in five operating divisions with a total budget of $30 Million. Managed the consolidation and integration of five separate departments into one as part of a citywide reorganization. Increased staff resources by 30% over three years to account for higher service demands. Successfully implemented six-sigma and lean process improvement initiatives that led to structural change and increased operational efficiencies. Initiated employee engagement and team-building efforts to enhance employee job satisfaction, leading to improved performance indicators. Department accomplishments under my leadership:- Processed record number of building permits, concurrent with implementation of major updates to the Florida Building Code (26,000 permits in 2015 with a total job value of $1.7 Billion)- Implemented an Adopt-a-Neighbor Program to assist low-income, elderly, and disabled homeowners comply exterior code violations with volunteer help-Completed a five-year citywide Economic Development Strategic Plan - Directed Central Beach CRA public improvement projects totaling $80 Million- Adopted a new Transit Oriented Development (TOD) chapter in the Downtown Master Plan; implemented new form based design standards for the Northwest Regional Activity Center- Approved new land development regulations and ordinances to reflect the evolving character of the City: “parklets”, street performers, bike sharing, urban agriculture, waterside dining- Successfully processed site plan applications for more than 5,000 residential units, 1.2 million square feet of commercial/office/retail, and 300+ hotel rooms- Realized double-digit improvements in neighbor satisfaction for code compliance efforts- Implemented internal and external department dashboard to track key performance indicators and division metrics on a monthly basis

Began my professional career as an entry level planner, successfully receiving promotions over a 12-year period to ultimately lead the Department’s urban design and master planning program. Accomplishments:- Managed the City’s annexation program, leading to the incorporation of six neighborhoods with 15,000 new residents - Reviewed and processed more than 50 large-scale development review applications to ensure compliance with the city’s zoning code and master plan design standards; projects totaling approximately 2,000 residential units, 700 hotel rooms, and 100,000 SF of office and commercial space - Co-authored and codified the North US 1 Urban Design Plan and South Andrews Avenue Master Plan & Design Standards- Managed production and approval of the 2008 Downtown New River Master Plan- Managed production and approval of the 2010 Downtown Riverwalk Master Plan

Managed all aspects of public communication for Broward County Infrastructure Improvement Program in unincorporated neighborhoods, and City of Fort Lauderdale WaterWorks 2011 Water & Wastewater Capital Improvements Program.- Developed, implemented, and managed sewer connection process for property owners- Developed and presented all public communication material including property owner correspondence, media placements, program brochures and newsletters, and public meeting presentations
