Bruce Jennings is Senior Fellow at the Center for Humans and Nature and development editor of its newly launched publishing venture, CHN Press. He is on the core faculty of the Vanderbilt University Center for Biomedical Ethics and Society and holds a faculty appointment in the Department of Health Policy. He is a Fellow and Senior Advisor at The Hastings Center. He taught ethics at the Yale University School of Public Health from 1995-2015. He is Editor in Chief of Bioethics, 4th ed. (formerly the Encyclopedia of Bioethics), 6 vols. (Macmillan Reference, 2014). Mr. Jennings has also served as a consultant to several governmental and private organizations. A political scientist by training, Mr. Jennings is a graduate of Yale University (B.A. 1971) and Princeton University (M.A. 1973). While at The Hastings Center from 1980-2006, Mr. Jennings served as Executive Vice President from 1991 through 1999.He has written and edited thirty one books and has published over 250 articles on bioethics and public policy issues. His most recent books include, Nancy Berlinger, Bruce Jennings, and Susan M. Wolf, The Hastings Center Guidelines for Decisions on Life-Sustaining Treatment and Care Near the End of Life, Revised and Expanded Second Edition. (Oxford University Press, 2013); Timothy Kirk and Bruce Jennings, eds. Hospice Ethics: Policy and Practice in Palliative Care (Oxford University Press, 2014); Michele Bayefsky and Bruce Jennings, Regulating Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis in the United States: The Limits of Unlimited Selection (Palgrave Macmillan, 2015); and Bruce Jennings, Ecological Governance: Toward a New Social Contract with the Earth (University of West Virginia Press, 2016). He recently published his first book of poetry, "What I Would Not Part With," (Amazon Book Publishing Pros, 2023).
