The ONE World Project reaches out into our communities in the US and abroad. Providing programing and advocacy. Facilitating University campuses and communities all over the world to advocate for the United Nations Millennium Development Goals. We work to inform people and help them express their views for problems of today and the future along with providing creative solutions that will impact there local community.

Ms. California World International 2012Jennipha-Laurén Nielsen was crowned Ms. California World International August 12, 2011. Ms. Nielsen will compete for the title of Ms. World International slated for August 5 – 10, 2012 in San Juan Puerto Rico.While completing her Masters Jennipha-Laurén Nielsen was elected California State University, Student Body President. This gave her opportunities to speak with legislators and public officials regarding the importance for funding higher education and providing programs for girls and minority students to explore science and technology.Inspired by these experiences she began the work necessary to start Lipsticks & Laptops a non-profit organization that would continue her mission to foster an excitement for science and technology while providing mentoring opportunities for middle school girls in her community and throughout the state of California.Working with Microsoft for 5 years gave her access to great programs like Microsoft’s Digi Girlz program. This was able to provide firsthand experiences; the impact outreach programs can have and inspire young people. Reaching out to Friends, the University Community, Media Professionals and Community Leaders, she has been able to maintain a strong multimedia presence.Whether on the web, television, or catching her latest Radio Show or Video Blog, it is all done with the hope of reaching as many girls as possible with this empowering message.Jennipha will embark on a 3-month Community Service Tour, her stops are to include: India, Hong Kong & Paris.

A.S.I. is a not-for-profit student run auxiliary. A.S.I. is governed by a student Board of Directors who are elected each year by the student body of Cal State L.A. A.S.I. is the officially recognized voice of the students. Multiple studies have shown women make up less than 16% of technical positions in the United States. Let’s change these numbers and change the world. Together, we are working to pave the way, for young girls and minority students to fulfill the need and the dreams, of this underrepresented population. Inspired by my own experiences being mentored, Lipsticks & Laptops was created to foster an excitement for science and technology by hosting outreach events at schools, for youth groups while developing mentoring opportunities within their communities. Interest in our program has grown as well as the need to for more women and minorities in the fields of science and technology Lipsticks & Laptops program was designed to specifically target young girls and other minority youth.
