I am a junior at the University of Rhode Island studying Communicative Disorders with a minor in Education. I have worked in many different settings including childcare and the food and beverage industry. Through these experiences, I have gained many interpersonal and organizational skills. I am looking to pursue a career in Speech Pathology in the future and continue working with children. My time at URI has resulted in significant advancements in both my skill development and academic progress. I look forward to learning new things and gaining experience throughout the rest of my time at the University of Rhode Island as well as post-grad. In the future, I would ideally like to work with the pediatric demographic in an acute care setting within a school system or practice. Continuous professional growth and development hold significant importance in this field and stand as a fundamental work value for me. Additionally, I am drawn to speech pathology due to its crucial role in helping people attain vital life functions including communication, swallowing, and chewing. My passion for helping others motivates me to dedicate myself to my future career.
