We're focused on Scaling, Reliability, Observability, and Automation, working Kubernetes and many other exciting technologies.

Cloud Management is one of 3 teams within the Compute Group, alongside Cloud Infrastructure Provisioning and Orchestration. We are responsible for the best practices, infrastructure-as-code and tooling that Stripe Engineers use to configure, launch, and manage their (AWS) Cloud resources on which they run their services.

The Database Reliability Engineering (DRE) team is responsible for the reliability, performance, security, and scaling of our foundational databases here at Yelp: Cassandra, MySQL, and ZooKeeper. Our databases serve millions of queries per second, and enable Yelp's services to connect our users with great local businesses.Over the past couple several quarters, Yelp has made great headway towards running Cassandra on Kubernetes, while also improving our existing way of running tasks & replacing nodes. We have also completely automated failover & replication promotion of MySQL hosts using Orchestrator & ProxySQL, and completed a project to seamlessly replace ZooKeeper nodes.

Yelp Moms is a Yelp Employee Resource Group focused on supporting Moms at Yelp, specifically as they return from leave and take advantage of our benefits, two of which are hospital grade pumps in the Mother's Rooms, and Backup Childcare. I co-founded this group, worked closely with HR/People Operations to advocate for increased benefits, and designed a national program to welcome and support new moms as they return from maternity leave.

As the MySQL DBA at Yelp, I am responsible for the day to day health of our production, stage, and internal database servers across multiple datacenters and function shards.I specialize in database optimization, tuning, schema and systems architecture, disaster planning, recovery, and working with all teams who have a data need!

As Database Architect, I was responsible for all day to day MySQL Database administration as well as early ETL development, some Linux Systems Administration, management of our monitoring project and working directly with members of the product, development and QA teams to ensure that database development was smooth and peformant.

At Aggregate Knowledge I was responsible for schema development and online schema changes of several large tables in a multi-datacenter environment, as well as monitoring, backup & recovery, optimization, and script maintenance.

I am responsible for monitoring the database and it's performance, health, development, and optimization, as well as structure migration management for our releases and development. Tribe is a stellar company, and I hope to be here for a long time!

I started at Bluedot as a Junior Software Engineer fresh out of college, and eventually became the primary Database developer. I was responsible for database builds, backup and restore, maintenance scripts, and Linux administration as it pertained to the database.
