I began as a teacher of 5 year-olds and loved teaching them even through the second half of the year when we had to pivot to online learning. Last year,as a result of Covid, I taught multiple grade levels and subjects, settling back to in person teaching with Primary IE classes and co-teaching 8 and 9 year-old classes. This year I am an 8 year old homeroom teacher.

Morning and afternoon kindergarten classes, managing 40+ diverse personalities and abilities. Collaborated with grade-level partners to develop lesson plans. Created exploratory science lessons, implemented Common Core standards with numberline activities, math journals, and daily writing.

Liberty Elementary School

Taught morning and afternoon kindergarten classes while managing 48 diverse personalities and abilities. Collaborated with grade level partner to develop lesson plans. Implemented Common Core standards with number line activities, math journals, and daily writing. Trained and utilized parent volunteers to help with small group reading in the classroom. Created hands-on science lesson extensions for use with fabric study and five senses units.

Liberty Elementary School

Developed grade level library and literature lesson plans for Kindergarteners through Sixth graders. Managed appropriate student library behavior. Member of the Library Quadrant Collaboration Team, developing best practices and curriculum continuum; member of Leadership Team, collaborating on building improvements and school culture. Trained and participated in the Look2Learning program. Aided other staff and teachers as the Building Technology Coordinator. Managed $20,000 Troxell Grant to support curriculum and reading enjoyment through updating the book collection and the library setting.

Followed and implemented teachers’ lesson plans. Managed student behavior and classroom in line with school and/or teacher’s policies. Acted as long-term certified Kindergarten substitute at Cole Elementary School for one semester.
