I received a student research grant from CASFS to fund research expenses for my dissertation exploring parents and children's beliefs about food and health.

Served as a volunteer with Jovenes Sanos, a project of the "Go for Health!" collaborative. The Jovenes Sanos program works with high school students from Watsonville, CA to develop leadership projects focused on improving the health of their community. My responsibilities included assisting the Jovenes Sanos supervisor in running weekly planning meetings with the high school students, data entry and analyses, writing press releases, and researching wellness programs around the country.

I received a two year fellowship from CILS to train as a informal learning researcher.

Worked as a research assistant to Professor Tiffany Ito and completed an honors thesis exploring the categorical perception effect for gender and analyzing gendered beliefs, identities and attitudes as potential moderators of this effect.
