I am responsible for implementing and managing half of the Foundation’s grantmaking programs and my team of four staff that support those programs. I work closely with the Executive Director to successfully organize and implement seven programs globally that provide opportunities for building and growing Internet connectivity, Internet governance, and digital inclusion. I am responsible for ensuring all elements of the grant application, selection, management, and track impact of our grant partners. I work cross-functionally with other ISOC Foundation members and with Internet Society staff on ongoing strategy, budget management, and community development.

As a Program Officer, I execute and advance the strategy for an assigned portfolio of awards initiatives by cultivating, supporting, and tracking a portfolio of high-impact grants. I currently work with artists and technologists utilizing artificial intelligence to explore bias and the importance of representation in building technology. The other half of my grants portfolio is supporting computer science faculty (and multidisciplinary teams) working to integrate ethics into undergraduate computer science curriculum. I work to support not only current awardees but also alumni awardees as they continue their work within the Internet Health Movement. As a public foundation, Mozilla receives funding from highly innovative investors and funders. I also manage several funding relationships that the support the work I lead.In the past, I have worked on grants and awards related to wireless networks for under-connected and post-disaster communities, high-speed internet technologies for education, and open science grants and Fellowships.

Since 2011, Mozilla has partnered with the National Science Foundation and US Ignite to demonstrate the value of gigabit networks for learning and help seed demand for further high-speed network investment. Through the Mozilla Gigabit Community Fund, we support the creation of gigabit applications (VR, 4K, IoT, big data processing, etc.) and associated curricula to equip students for the future. As the Gigabit Fund Manager, I work on developing and executing project strategy, managing local and national partnerships, and communicating the work to diverse audiences. I also work on Mozilla's Wireless Innovation for a Networked Society (WINS) Challenges, a $2 million awards program in partnership with NSF focused on wireless solutions that get people online after disasters or that connect communities lacking reliable Internet access.
