JENNY BUCHANANBorn in Western Australia, Jenny Buchanan began painting in 1996 and started selling her work in 1997. A member of the Wanneroo Art Society, Jenny won her first art prize in 1999 and in 2001 participated in her first gallery exhibition, along with four other artists, at Accent Gallery in Subiaco. After moving to the Gold Coast in 2002, other commitments meant that Jenny was unable to devote any time to her art until 2007. At this time, after some success with her Japanese-themed paintings including becoming a finalist in Australian Artist Magazine’s Art Prize Challenge No. 33, Jenny began creating and selling mosaics. Jenny has two public works of art to her credit. Her first mosaic mural was purchased by the Gold Coast City Council in 2009 and now hangs at Burleigh Head beachfront. Also, the “Play Me, I’m Yours” street piano project for Caba Creative can be found in the foyer of the Woolworths Shopping Centre at Cabarita Beach.After a short stint living in Hawaii, Jenny has now settled in the beachside town of Cabarita Beach, on the Tweed Coast in Northern New South Wales.
