As I continue to grow my career at ModSquad, I have the opportunity to support the strategic development of key internal and client-facing services, rooted in the delivery of exceptional experience across digital platforms. In my senior management position, I strive to build highly engaged communities, while empowering the next generation of community managers to do the same.

In my fifth year at ModSquad, I moved from a Community Manager to Community Strategist role, taking on greater leadership responsibilities for developing, publishing, and disseminating cross-program strategy in both internal and client-facing capacities. During this time, I was responsible for supporting the recruitment and development of an international team of 35+ social and community managers. I was responsible for planning and delivering a series of educational workshops to drive impact on service delivery in the areas of engagement and community management.

In my role as a Community Manager, I supported clients with operational delivery across a range of public and private forums and social media platforms. During these years, I managed a global youth ambassador program on behalf of one of the world's largest social media platform. I recruited, developed, and managed a team of 15+ global associate community managers who executed upon our strategic objectives. I reported on community data and insights in order to drive business goals, as well as crafted playbooks and guidelines to inform content creation and engagement.

A former client introduced me to ModSquad in the autumn of 2016, as they required a trusted pair of hands to support their project launch. I managed the relationship between ModSquad's 25-person team and our client's global team including two central offices and 16 international market teams. Following a successful launch, my role was extended to include Market Development and Project Management responsibilities, delivering world-class experiences across multilingual social and community platforms and achieving one of the largest and most engaged social presences in the industry.

After several years in recruitment, I was keen to get back to delivering operational services. I had the opportunity to return to a client that was very near and dear to my heart, taking on the management of relationships between 16+ key market teams, supporting multi-lingual service devivery, and mentoring a group of 3 market coordinators in development.

I took on a role in Concentrix Recruitment to support a large-scale, global ramp for a tech client in need of highly-skilled, multilingual talent. Having spent two years in operations, I knew what success looked like. As an American living in Belfast, I had a keen understanding of the exceptional experience this city and work-place had to offer. Starting out as a Resourcer and quickly progressing to a Recruitment Specialist, I thoroughly enjoyed matching engaged candidates with the projects where they could make a huge impact. After the first year, I took on a Lead role, managing a team of 10+ professionals working to competitive recruitment targets. In this role, I supported the end-to-end recruitment lifecylce, from sourcing candidates at international job fairs to providing a warm welcome during relocation.

I supported the Five Decade Storytelling project by facilitating 1:1 and group sessions centered around the rich experiences of women living through The Troubles conflict during the decades of the 1960s through 2000s. The output of these sessions was a collection of transcribed stories published in paperback and print, as well as multimedia assets shared at the Belfast City Hall and other public installments. During the launch, I had the honor of reading one of the stories aloud from the collection. This project was carried out by Forthspring Inter Community Group, an inclusive and innovative organisation located in a shared space at the Springfield/Woodvale interface in Belfast.

I worked for one year as a researcher at ICR, an Independent research organisation, which specializes in working on issues related to conflict, human rights, social transformation and social justice. Using a range of interactive and observational methods, including interviews, focus groups, and text-based research, I evaluated program performance and researched important topics with relevance to the health and wellbeing of the community including migrant experiences, cross-community relations, and more. I co-authored "A Model of Consultation? Transformation and Regeneration at the Interface" (2013).

After obtaining my Master's degree, I took on a wider range of paid work in order to supplement my voluntary and semi-funded career in peacebuilding. One such part-time job included note-taking and dictation services for students at my alma mater, Queen's University Belfast. This role was developed to support students who faced physical and intellectual barriers to education. I primary attended courses in the areas of: law, social work, and social sciences.

For two years I worked at GEM Belfast to provide front-line customer support across communication channels including chat, email, phone support, and social media engagement. My primary client included a destination marketing organization in the tourism space, who I went on to work for in a strategic capacity for more than a decade.

After receiving my Master's degree in Comparative Ethnic Conflict, I worked in both paid and voluntary capacities for Belfast Interface Project, an organization developing creative approaches to the regeneration of Belfast's interface or ‘peaceline’ areas. During this time, I led a series of Interface Insight Visits for local and international youth, including cross-border, cross-community experiences on behalf of the peace-funded Wider Horizon Tyrone-Donegal Partnership. I also edited and provided cover art (photography) for the publication of "Belfast Interfaces" (2012).

During my first six months in Belfast while pursuing my Master's degree in Comparative Ethnic Conflict, I worked as an Intern at Intercomm, a non-profit organization founded by community activists in 1995, as a direct response to grassroots community concerns about the lack of formal structures to deal with political and sectarian unrest in the North Belfast area. I had the opportunity to attend insight missions hosted by Intercomm to educate foreign delegations about the lessons of peacebuilding in deeply divided societies. I also coordinated cross-community workshops across the city in order to bring together strategic players to surface shared needs and plan for collaborative programs for future development.

As a university senior and shortly after graduation, I contributed to the research, writing, and editing of articles related to politics and justice with a focus on the Middle East and conflict resolution for the online think tank Al Waref, founded and launched by my Arabic Professor and Syrian poet, Marah Bukai. During this time, I interviewed influential members of the community and contributed op-ed pieces for online publication.

After returning from a short-term study abroad in Egypt, I joined Hands Along the Nile Development Services (HANDS), an organization striving to forge lasting partnerships between Americans and Egyptians in order to increase intercultural understanding and support Egyptians in their efforts to raise the quality of life for the most under-served members of their society. My role was to support ongoing programs by coordinating events (eg: cross-cultural dialogue programs) as well as research for grant-writing.

While studying at the University of Maryland, I volunteered at Vital Voices Global Partnerships, an organization who works to create space and opportunities for women around the world. On short-term assignment, I researched legal barriers to employment for women in the Middle East.

As a student at the University of Maryland, I worked as an opinion columnist for print and digital publication in the university newspaper "The Diamondback" (www.diamondbackonline.com) providing articles on community and campus based activism.
