With over 25 years experience working in the Western Australian cultural sector, Jenny specializes in public arts facilitation and cultural planning. She is a trusted advisor to artists, landscape architects, architects, property developers, urban planners, local and state government in Western Australia and the Northern Territory.Jenny has considerable experience in community engagement, art procurement, arts strategy development and implementation in the public realm. She enjoys collaborating with others to express the aspirations and values of unique communities. She has written arts strategies for Local Government Authorities and private developers and coordinated over 100 public art projects ranging in commission value between $5,000 - $500,000. These projects are varied and include ephemeral, temporary artworks, community based projects, stand-alone sculptures and artworks integrated with the built form and urban landscape. Since 2011 she has established an independent arts advisory business, and is a public art coordinator and advisor for WA State Government and the Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority WA. She has direct experience working within the local government sector as Coordinator of Public Art for the City of Subiaco (2010 - 2014) and from 2004 - 2010 she managed the Client Services and Artist Employment Agency, at Artsource, the artists agency of WA. At the turn of the century she worked at the Mundaring Arts Centre (MAC) firstly as a Community Arts Organiser and later as Managing Director. With a solid background in education and community arts she brings social practice, cultural awareness to all her projects. She is Chair of the Board of Directors, Mundaring Arts Centre and Public Arts Advisor forthe City of Melville.Jenny Kerr is also a practicing artist, currently exploring possibilities in ceramics. She currently divides her time between Melbourne and her home in the jarrah forest east of Perth, Western Australia.
