If you've come upon my profile, my bet is that you have spent some time recently in your organization talking about the big problems that your teams are facing. Looking at the big problems that no one really has the time to take on but are too important to keep circling back to in another week, month, or fiscal year. I love to look over all of the pieces of work that everyone has started and to pull it together into a solution to a problem that's been vexing the organization, using staff feedback to develop a plan that will address the problems as quickly and with as little disruption to the day to day operations of your team as possible. In some ways, you can think of me as a professional novice, learning everything net new so that we can approach a problem head on with an angle that might be more difficult for someone super engaged in the field to see; that's the goal, anyways, and it's worked well in the past. Thinking back through my career, I've realized it's rare that I've been technically qualified for any role I had when I took it - but my work experience speaks for itself - I learn quickly because I love to see how things work and put it back together more effectively. I thrive in ambiguity and uncertainty; I love to get a chance to learn how teams work together and I like the opportunity to speak plainly about what's going on and how to get to a solution. My background is principally in finance, but my education is in organizational leadership and political science; basically, the understanding of how people work, and people exist in all fields and in all jobs.
