Led the Public Health and Healthcare function within the BMA's policy directorate. The PHH function consists of 23 policy and research experts and support staff in 4 teams - health policy, workforce and innovation, research and public health. We provide specialist policy and research development and advice on a wide range of NHS and public health policy issues across the UK. We work closely with BMA senior officers and committees, the wider membership and key external stakeholders.

Led on areas of health policy including competition, choice and regulation, providing a strategic and expert overview of policy implications for doctors, the health service and the BMA. Produced high quality analysis and research, promoting the BMA's perspective of health policy and helping to position the BMA centrally in the health arena. Worked with senior elected officers and members in consideration of health policy and undertook aspects of the BMA's trade union activities.
