Including one to one coaching, transformational leadership programmes and mentoring programmes.I am currently leading Emotional Intelligence work within both the education and health sectors.Education • Our programme for faculty heads and middle managers of an outstanding school in Yorkshire, resulted in increased EQ, confidence and the highest attainment results ever achieved. • Our emotional resilience programmes for students have also been adopted by schools in the same region.• I am leading the Emotional Intelligence element within the leadership development programme for Emerging Academy Heads. This programme is sponsored by the National College of School Leaders. NHS• Over 2500 staff from the Guys and St Thomas’ Trust have been through our emotional resilience and well-being programme (The Difference is You!) since it was introduced 4 years ago. It is now part of their mandatory training.• Our one day programme for over 600 newly qualified staff nurses and midwives considered the impact of their well-being on themselves, their colleagues and patients. This has supported retention of newly qualified staff. The results and observations of the programme support the findings of the recent research by the RCN on causes of nurse burnout, but demonstrates how improving emotional competence can positively impact group dynamics, well-being and therefore patient care.• In February 2012 I published an article in the RCN’s Nursing Management Journal entitled ‘Creating a positive workplace culture’ which discussed the findings of the programme and provided practical tips for nursing managers. Corporate clients include FTSE 100 technology and engineering companies, where we have developed and delivered a broad spectrum of leadership development, improving team dynamics and organisational change programmes.
