ACCOMPLISHMENTS: - Twice Taught week long cartographic section of the Naval Oceanographic Office's International Hydrographic training course in Biloxi- Mastered sophisticated S57 compliant GIS systems for creating and updating interactive Electronic Nautical Charts (ENC)'s and used that knowledge to compile charts, review the work of contractors & NOAA cartographers, & to teach the system to others- Developed new methods & policy for using geographic cells of topography and satellite imagery to calculate datum shifts in the Northwest Hawai'ian Islands- Managed Special Project working with the US Geologic Survey's Geographic Names Board to update 1000's of geographic names in the Hawai'ian Islands- Trained 25 contractors & 8 NOAA employees in Nautical Cartography- Trained as Contract Officer Technical Representative (COTR) Levels I and II.- Managed Special Project to Develop checklists for nautical charting processes- Provided digital graphics for power point presentation for International Hydrographic Planning Committee- Bronze Metal Award for Survey Feedback Action- Developed & Documented techniques for processing 3D hydrographic data, digital topographic data- Worked with Cross Cutting Team that proposed methods for processing digital topographic surveys (Geographic Cells)- Biannual monetary awards for outstanding job performanceDUTIES: - Act as Branch Chief in chief's absence- Develop work plans, balance workloads, & meet deadlines for cartographic products - Use S57 compliant GIS to: Evaluate, compile, & review complex cartographic applications- Evaluate, process, & publish critical updates to NOAA's cartographic products in the US Coast Guard's Weekly On-line Notice to Mariners- Train cartographers & contractors to compile GIS & raster based nautical charts- Modify techniques, develop requirements & document methods
