Elected to this position in 2020. President of the Board (2023). Bond Chair (2022) campaigned to pass a $110 million bond to improve all schools. I participated in the reorganization of the district office, interviewing candidates, and advising the hiring of new leadership positions. I have served on the Curriculum and Learning subcommittee since 2020; subcommittee with the high school district and inter-governmental subcommittee, and the Bond sub-committee. During my time on the board, we have passed an innovative talent initiative, which includes a new salary ladder and comprehensive evaluation, increasing teacher salaries by 10%, bringing them into the top third of the county. I actively advocate for the needs of our community, the students and families to receive equitable treatment and to create equitable practices across districts and city governments.

As a senior admissions counselor, I continue to work with students from all backgrounds ranging from middle school into college to help navigate the college admissions and transfer admissions process. I train and advise new counselors, have streamlined and created processes for the counseling team and company, assist in writing policy, strategy, and procedures, create and present content relevant to the admissions process, interpret and present data on admissions to our clients and the community. I have worked with scholarship students from a diverse background and demographic as well, helping guide them to different opportunities in post-secondary education.

Building upon my past positions, I work with students and parents to help navigate the college admissions process. I mentor students on topics ranging from study skills, how to succeed in the classroom, how to be engaged outside of the classroom and how to develop their extracurricular activities. I help build college lists tailored to each individual student's goals and skills, and also help brainstorm, edit, and finalize student's essays. I help students navigate the world of high school from study skills, interactions with teachers and peers, extracurricular activities, outside projects.
