My focus is to build engagement and communicate the impacts and benefits of Microscopy Australia to researchers, stakeholders, industry and the public. Fostering industry research partnerships and user training tools are also key. I am responsible for developing online and print media as well as initiatives for diverse promotional, sponsorship and outreach activities. Examples I created include the Technique Finder online tool and Microscopy Australia annual Research Highlights series and I curated the Stories & Structures – New Connections and Incredible Inner Space touring exhibitions.

As Picture Editor I managed the Biomedical Images collection for Wellcome Images, the picture library of the Wellcome Trust. I selected, acquired and managed the scientific, clinical and healthcare imagery and associated information, and managed the sales of this material to a broad range of clients. I was line manager to several staff working on specific projects relating to the Biomedical Collection. The role involved constant communication with scientists and healthcare professionals as well as picture buyers and the general public. I negotiated contracts with universities, funding bodies, agencies and individuals and coordinated regular public exhibitions of biomedical imagery.
