My role is to support the transformation of Homebase and it's strategic priorities through producing clear, consistent and timely communications to ensure that all colleagues are clear about what the organisation is doing. I provide communications advice and support to other departments and I manage the flow of regular, accurate and appropriate information to colleagues at all levels at Homebase, using a wide variety of communication channels.

My role is to lead and coordinate academic reputation activities across the University, acting as a conduit to identify and maximise the dissemination and impact of the OU's academic excellence to a variety of key stakeholders.

Responsible for promoting both academic and student success to a variety of external and internal stakeholders. I successfully developed and delivered communications projects and campaigns such as the National Student Survey and the VCs enterprising staff award scheme. I was instrumental in developing the writing style and tone of voice for staff communications and introduced a new staff and student e-newsletter. I was responsible for sourcing and drafting articles as well as monitoring and reporting on the success of the publication, making changes and improvements where necessary.I was responsible for planning, researching, copywriting and editing a number of the University’s most significant publications such as the annual report, corporate plan, student handbooks and a stakeholder magazine. I also regularly produced case studies, web stories, intranet content and press releases.

A short-term contract role managing media relations for the launch of the TDAs National Teacher Recruitment Campaign. My responsibilities included campaign planning; creating and pitching stories to the national and regional media and managing junior members of the team. I secured coverage across national, consumer press and regional radio, exceeding KPIs set by the client.

My role at the IET encompassed media relations, marketing communications, public affairs and internal communications to staff and the wider IET networks across the UK. I organised high profile events, including producing all communications and marketing collateral. For example, I managed a reception at the House of Commons to lobby opinion formers on issues in the engineering sector. I also produced all marketing collateral and communications for the Young Woman Engineering of the Year Awards, one of the IET’s flagship awards. I worked closely with the senior management team and Chief Executive advising on communications, preparing staff for media interviews and writing speeches and opinion pieces. I was also responsible for briefing and managing external PR, design and Public Affairs agencies on a variety of campaigns.

An agency role, I worked across high profile consumer brands including Cadbury Fingers, Weight Watchers and Bacofoil. I was responsible for: managing the day to day relationships with each client; writing and pitching news stories; planned events and I assisted with researching, writing and presenting new business pitches.

Lichfield

A broad marketing and PR role. Key responsibilities included developing, managing and writing for the Soleco UK consumer website; organising a variety of product launches, press visits, special events with celebrity chefs; developing packaging and organising exhibitions, including the International Food Exhibition.
