Carthage is a four-year private college of the liberal arts and sciences, affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Located midway between Chicago and Milwaukee, Carthage's picturesque campus on the Lake Michigan shore is home to 2,500 full-time and 900 part-time students. While at Carthage I worked as a member of the events team, the conference department, and managed the Todd Wehr Center office. Given the varying tasks the position required flexibility, quick thinking, and excellent communication skills. In 2013 I was elected as an inaugural member of Carthage Staff Council, representing the EVS, Maintenance and Conferences departments. The council established the guidelines to steer voting and elections, and worked on employee engagement initiatives.
