Sydvatten produces drinking water to about 1 million inhabitants, companies and organisations in the south of Sweden. In the role as sustainability manager, I have been building up the companies strategical and systematic sustainability work, and the sustainability reporting. This has included setting up carbon accountings and improvement measures from both operation and construction and to reach the goal on climate neutrality. I have also worked with actions for a more sustainable national and regional water management system adapted to climate changes and water as a limited resource.

As Team Leader at the consulting company ÅF in the area Resource management and in the area of Sustainability, I developed new business and market activities in both areas. I worked in network with other Team Leaders nationally. Among the assignments carried out were a larger study on water resource management in Sweden and assignments linked to circular food production and waste management in sustainable urban development.

The Malmö Innovation arena aimed at developing new working methods and introducing new roles in Malmö's urban development processes to make them more sustainable. As Project Manager, I coordinated the overall project and its sub activities that directly involved about 70 people from different sectors in and outside Malmö city and indirectly significantly more.

Recyctec is a listed recycling company that with an innovation within the circular economy at the time was getting established in the Swedish and Nordic markets as well as preparing for an international expansion. The company provides a globally unique purification method for used glycol from different industries, a hazardous waste, restoring the glycol to its original conditions getting back its market value. The method was developed in a full scale plant. As COO in a smaller start up my tasks were very broad and varied, mainly connected to market-, business- and operation development.

Project leader for a national industry initiative on increased exports of Swedish waste knowledge and waste technology, through collaboration between the private and public sectors. This involved building networks and creating cooperation- and business models for collaboration between different stakeholders active in different parts of the export process: municipalities, researchers, companies delivering knowledge and technology on an export market, business organisations, governmental organisations, embassies, export promoters, etc., as well as working with potential customers on an international market and finding collaborations within the network that could match their needs.Another part of the work has involved supporting different countries in the policy development and implementation, necessary for creating the driving force to invest in clean tech and sustainable solutions in the countries. I was on several occasions invited as a speaker in international environmental conferences and met up with delegations coming into Sweden, sometimes high-level delegations (minister level).

Sustainable Business Hub is a network organisation that supports clean tech companies to strengthen their competitiveness and to expand their export reach. As a manager of EU projects, I led and coordinated a number of EU-funded Interregional projects with partners around the Baltic Sea in the areas of waste management, wastewater treatment / biogas management and district heating efficiency. Partners were organisations, companies, municipalities and research institutions from Sweden, Poland, Baltic states and other countries around the Baltic Sea.

Sysav is a regional waste management company owned by 14 municipalities, main supplier to the district heating network of the city of Malmö. I was responsible for the QSE (Quality, Safety, Environment) - department of the company. The responsibility of the department was to co-ordinate and support the QSE-work at the different operational units of the company as well as coordinating and leading the regional waste planning together with the owner municipalitiesSpecifically, I was leading the work for the introduction and development of a management system certified according to environment, quality and working environment standards. I was also a member of ISWA (International Solid Waste Association) Working Group on Recycling and Waste Minimisation.

I was working with various projects within the environmental, energy and waste management area. Type of projects were:• Studies, reviews, analysis, etc, on issues concerning waste and energy management and environmental polices and legislation. • Environmental permit applications processes (including contacts with authorities, the public, NGO’s, politicians, etc) and set up of environmental impact assessments for the construction and operation of renewable fueled energy and waste plants, windmills, etc.Typical clients were municipal and private waste and/or energy management companies, but I also worked with organisations such as Swedish Environmental Protection Agency, the Swedish Association of Waste Management, the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency and IEA Bioenergy.

As adviser in waste-to-energy, I was active in many and varied tasks related to the area. My primary task was to coordinate or participate in various national and international (ISWA and IEA Bioenergy) working groups on waste incineration.The work also included monitoring of technical and legislative development and policy concerning energy-from-waste, particularly the development of a new EU-directive on Waste Incineration. Furthermore, I was the course manager for the association's courses in the field of waste incineration and often organizer of seminars and workshops, regarding waste incineration in Sweden and abroad.

Development of processes for chlorate production and chlorine dioxide generation, focus on effluent minimization and closed loop processes. The task involved planning and operationally run and develop pilot plants, placed on labs or in real environments, and analyze results from tests.
