Responsible for supporting the Upstream Unconventionals exploration program in Colombia, I focus on providing field support to Production Operations, Logistics, and Projects teams in Bogota and Houston, collaborating closely with other HSSE staff members. My accountabilities include working with the HSE team to identify key HSE aspects and risks, providing mitigation options, minimizing environmental impact, and ensuring compliance with company standards and local regulations. I identify local regulatory requirements applicable to Logistics, Production Operations, and Projects (P&T) to ensure systems are in place for HSE compliance. As the in-country HSE lead, I develop and implement an HSE forum for consultants and contractors, support the implementation of the HSSE MS program, and ensure that HSSE MS Bridging Documents are understood and implemented by field contract staff and Shell Production Operations staff. I monitor HSE performance in the region, provide performance feedback, and coordinate with all accountable parties to ensure compliance with Control Framework standards. Additionally, I ensure that emergency response plans are fit for purpose and executable, develop and deliver HSSE training for new programs and campaigns, participate in incident investigations, work with operations to implement corrective actions to prevent recurrences, and share learnings with operations teams.

Responsible for planning and implementing Safety and Health Management Systems, including corporate programs such as Roadmap, Leadsafe, transport safety, and consequence management. I continuously improved SHEQ standards, investigated and performed root cause analysis for accidents, and identified, documented, and communicated local SHEQ regulations. I trained employees on workplace hazards, risks, and controls, developed the SHEQ training program using interactive methodologies, and provided technical advice on safety topics to operations and business areas. Additionally, I identified major risks and implemented control systems in critical activities, major maintenance, and customer installations. I also led the contractors management team, responsible for increasing evaluation standards.

Identify and test work areas for potential accidents and health hazards, such as toxic fumes and explosive gas-air mixtures, and implement appropriate control measures.
