Director Of Programming

The Millennial Trains Project (MTP) was a nonprofit organization that led crowdfunded, transcontinental train journeys for diverse groups of young innovators to explore America's emerging frontiers, grow as leaders, and launch impactful projects to benefit their communities. These initiatives spanned a range of topics, from renewable energy and STEM education to sustainable food economies, inclusive tech ecosystems, public art, and social justice. My journey with MTP began as a participant, where I conducted research for my "Zombie Apocalypse Disaster Preparedness Games" project. During the trip, I interviewed disaster management experts and government officials to explore how games could enhance disaster preparedness. I later presented my findings to the White House’s Office of Social Innovation and Civic Participation in 2014 and published an article on the CDC’s Public Health Matters blog, "How Games Can Help Us Prepare for Disasters."Following my participation, I joined MTP’s staff as the Director of Programming for three subsequent trips. In this role, I orchestrated event programming, including on-board talks, workshops, and city-specific experiences such as meetings, tours, and panels in collaboration with local partners. My work focused on creating immersive, custom experiences across each 10-day journey, aligning each trip with MTP’s mission of fostering community-centered innovation and leadership.
