I have been in education for 14 years; 6 of those years teaching either 4th or 5th grade, 6 years as an Instructional Technology Specialist and Technology Grant Management, and 2 years as an Instructional Coach. During my work with Wichita Public schools I was able to gain many leadership skill building experiences. I was a grade level team leader as well as a building level team leader at the elementary level. Once I moved into the Instructional Technology Specialist role I was able to take on several district level projects from New Teacher Orientation or Blogging in the Classroom to running multiple technology grants. I was also able to be a Trainer of Trainers for several Intel courses offered to district personnel. As an Instructional Coach I was chosen to represent the district as a Trainer of Trainers for the CHAMPS/Achieve behavior management materials from Safe & Civil Schools as well as a Trainer of Trainers for Explicit Instruction from Dr. Anita Archer. Specialties: Curriculum & Instruction, ie CHAMPS/Achieve Behavior Management, design and deliver of instructional techniques, data-driven instruction, reflective teaching practices, Technology Integration, ie Web 2.0 tools (blogs, wikis, social networking), Smart Notebook, Airliner and Smart Response training, Intel Essentials and Thinking Tools courses.
