In a Full Time Position I am able to facilitate community-based conversations and programs to support advancement of environmental improvement efforts for the sake of people and wildlife. As a Community Sustainability Specialist in Shedd Aquariums Community Partnerships & Impact Department, I work closely with the other internal teams and departments in areas of community engagement / sustainability efforts working with priority Chicago communities. Worked as A.B.E.C. office assistant tending to day-to-day office needs. Additionally helping A.B.E.C. professors with their ongoing research projects in Spring/Fall 2022, such as conducting research for an Oxford Bibliography publication on "Animals in Environmental Education" (assistant professor Dr. Joshua Russell, 2022).

Internship duties pertained to caring for the garden space, maintaining its raised plant beds, compost area and sensory garden. I then began the gardens intial networking after Covid with community members. Further focusing on rekindling and creating connections to local co-ops and non-profit organizations aimed towards urban gardening. I worked to create more interaction with the garden by creating its first main website, establishing a geo-location on google maps, and continued to gain interest through media/flyer creation and walking house to house introducing myself and the work at the garden.

On the Animal Behavior Research team, under Associate Professor Miranda W. (Council Member of Animals & Society Section of American Sociological Association), I was able to work on the Losing Lulu Project transcribing audio file interviews of animal owners in efforts to better understand the relationship between humans and "pet-animals". Further revising fellow team members transcription work. This position required skills in Word, Excel, Adobe Express, and transcribing audio files.

As a Child-Animal-Nature Relation Research Team Member, under Assistant Professor Dr. J. Russel, I accomplished tasks such scanning reports, researching native plants for Canisius's new community garden and creating its new recycling/compost/wayfinding signs. This position required skills in Word, Excel, and Adobe Express.
