Promotes safe and therapeutic interdisciplinary patient care through consultation and supervision, effective communication, interactions with and training of direct care staff as needed, and milieu interventions. Uses de-escalation, mediation, conflict resolution and other less restrictive responses in relationship to the level of the patient while safely managing patient aggression. Collaborate with the treatment team regarding the need for continued care or discharge, and communicate discharge plans and aftercare effectively with patients, families, referral sources, and treatment team. Access internal and external resources on clients' behalf. Provide education/consultation to client/family, treatment team and community. Communicate psychosocial impact of diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment interventions.
