The Sector Connector programme helps businesses to make a positive difference in their local communities by connecting them to voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations that need help through skilled volunteering.

The SuperNetwork enables organisations in all sectors to connect, supporting business-to-business collaboration and creating links between business and research bodies, catapults and innovation hubs. It allows people to access support, events and information which unlock the potential for increased innovation. The SuperNetwork incorporates a programme of events including conferences, seminars and workshops will facilitate access to innovation support and finance and is a recognised access route to the network of research and innovation institutions, hubs, and information present within the region.

I work as an Account Manager for Adessi, an award winning Marketing and PR agency with offices in Newcastle and Leeds. My role as Events Manager is outsourced to a number of clients, principally Awarding Body NCFE. I'm responsible for researching, designing and producing NCFE's programme of events. This comprises of organising 8-10 regional conferences, a large national policy conference, corporate dinners, quarterly staff events, hospitality and exhibiting at industry events. I manage the events from conception to delivery; controlling the budget, marketing the events, sourcing venues & speakers, liaising with suppliers & co-ordinating the roles of colleagues at the event.

Opening of The Sage Gateshead - December 2004:- Was a member of the planning committee for the public opening of the building, attending weekly meetings and feeding back information to my department - Produced briefing manuals for staff working on the opening weekend- Fire marshal and duty manager in the Music Education Centre over opening weekend. This involved trouble shooting and managing logistics on the day such as artist set-up, audience safety, technical and catering requirements.A Winter's Tale:- Project co-ordinated and managed the budget of the production of A Winter's Tale, which culminated in a week long run at TSG in December 2005- Main point of contact for the director, composer, choreographer and mentor to a cast of 20- Organised rehearsals and chaired regular meetings with the creative team- Liaised with internal departments on marketing and production requirements.

Worked in a team to organise a national conference for 700 children at Legoland WindsorHelped to design a children's survey used to gather information at the conferenceCollated and analysed the data from the surveys to assist the Children's Rights Director in writing a report entitled 'Younger Children's Views'.

The Co-operative Party is a membership organisation affiliated to the Labour Party with strong links to Parliament. Mutuo (Co-op Party's sister organisation), is a Public Affairs Consultancy, Think Tank and Publisher for the mutual sector.Managed and marketed all events, from researching venues and approaching speakers to management on the day. Specific events included fringe meetings at the Party Political Conferences, seminars & publication launches at the House of Commons, a reception at no. 11 Downing Street & 300 person conferences, many of which attended by Government Ministers.Managed the production of publications, newsletters and marketing materials by producing copy, proof reading and briefing designers. Also managed the production of conference display and exhibition equipment.
