Served as the strategic research partner for product, design, and engineering leadership within these orgs. Influenced our product strategies and learning agendas to ensure research impacts key company decisions. Co-developed a central Pinner Needs Framework that served as the backbone of our 3-year Product Vision, the framing for our consumer topline metrics, a tool used for prioritizing investments, and has been widely adopted by teams across the consumer org to anchor their work to real user problems. Built a mixed methods research team through hiring, mentoring, and managing researchers from early career to staff-level across qual and quant disciplines. Defined our quant researcher hiring process for our broader consumer org.

Developed foundational user archetypes and user journeys that aligned disparate orgs on shared user needs and served as the central problem framing for product strategy. Developed a POV on risks of losing a core differentiator and opportunities to maintain differentiation that influenced reinvestment of resources into the space. Led our first post-covid international field research trip.

Summit Public Schools is a charter school network and a cohort of R&D pilot schools that tests innovative learning programs across the U.S. We partner with the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative to develop the Summit Learning Program, a learning model and platform that serves 400 schools and 80,000 students nationwide.As a design researcher, I influenced program, service, and product design challenges representing students and teachers. I was part of a newly formed team of 4 design researchers and together we laid the foundations for a human-centered design process to a field that was previously unfamiliar with this orientation toward problem solving.Some of my favorite design challenges included the implementation of social-emotional programs that nurtured class relationships and mental health, and designing a continuous improvement community where educators test new approaches and share their best practices across schools.

AltSchool (sold to Altitude Learning) was a Series C-funded startup that operated as both a network of lab schools for grades K-8 and an edtech software / hardware platform.I was part of of our Model Design team tasked with designing the vision, model, and tools for our project-based learning school model. Much of my work centered around co-creation and generative research within our lab schools - designers, engineers, teachers, and students collaborated in our classrooms to explore new approaches to learning and question everything we were taught about traditional schooling.

The network served over 3,500 students in CA, WI, TN, and DC.Our analytics team empowered the network to make strategic data-driven decisions around student achievement, staff satisfaction, and teacher development. We designed and implemented a suite of data dashboards empowering school leaders and educators to make personalized learning decisions.
