Co-FounderKatie Belle Neuroblastoma Research Fund 2010 - PresentSeattle, WaIn honor of our daughter Katie, who bravely and successfully endured eighteen months of treatment for a form of pediatric cancer called neuroblastoma, our family established a research fund in her name at Seattle Children's Hospital Foundation. To date we have raised over $750,000 to pay for clinical research being conducted at Seattle Children's Hospital and Seattle Children's Research Institute. Our fundraising efforts were instrumental in bringing a promising treatment called I-131 MIBG Therapy to Seattle Children’s in December 2013. For the last few years, we have supported clinical trials in which patients' own immune systems are harnessed to fight their cancer. One hundred percent of donations are spent on conducting clinical trials with the goals of saving more children's lives and reducing the toxic side effects that result in life-long complications for survivors.
